History

Central West district was formed in 2017 [1].  The district is named after Outback Queensland’s Central West which is the birthplace of Qantas and Watlzing Matilda.  It is also where the Stockman’s Hall of Fame is located.  The world’s largest collection of Australian dinosaur fossils can be found at the Australian Age of Dinosaurs Museum in Winton.  Its first District Commissioner was Elizabeth West [2].
