Badge Description

The design of of the badge is made up of the Brisbane East district and Camp Hill district badges

Southern Cross =  from the Brisbane East district badge, which was from the original Southern Cross  from the Brisbane South Area badge

Star showing compass points, with the Scout logo being on the Western point of the star from the Brisbane East district badge

Hill = Camp Hill, from the Camp Hill district badge.  Travellers coming into Brisbane used to camp on this hill.

Campfire = Campfire with flames and smoke representing the rise of scouting from the Camp Hill district badge

History

The district was formed in 1971 from parts of Brisbane East district and Camp Hill district [1, 2].  In 1971, the District Commissioner was A. W. Leveritt.  The district closed in 1987, and was last mentioned in the Brisbane South Area 1987 directory, and the last District Commissioner was W. Arthur Allen [3].
