Ross River District

Location: Near Townsville, North Queensland

District History

Ross River, which flows through Townsville is named after W. A. Ross, a colonial settler.  The first party of settlers, led by Ross, arrived at Cleveland Bay from Woodstock Station, 40 km south west of Townsville, on the 5th November 1864.  The badge was designed by Lloyd Piper.
